Martial Arts Training for Kids & Adults in Pflugerville, Texas

"Diets!!"

The word kinda strikes fear in all our hearts, right?  "That’s it, I’ve gained too much its time to go on a diet!”  Sigh…what does that mean to you?  To me it means, I’m going to deprive myself of the food I really like to eat for a certain amount of time, and hope I lose some weight and go back to normal in a few weeks.  And many people do lose weight on their “diet” don’t get me wrong.  BUT is your “diet” teaching you how to eat for a healthy lifestyle?  What is going to happen when you are not on your diet anymore?

Life Long Learners

One of the most important aspects of martial arts training in my opinion is the process of continuous learning. The martial artists of history were the also the scholars of their time. Keeping with the historical role of martial arts, Steve and I would like to share some of the things we have been learning.

A Well Stocked Pantry Means a Happy Cook!

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I rarely stick with my meal plan.  I’ll come home and say I feel like_______ tonight and I’m very happy if I have those ingredients at my fingertips.  So what do I keep stocked up on?  (These posts are my style of shopping lists.)

What's For Dinner? Week 1

In an effort to add value to our adult Taekwondo and fitness program we were encouraged to offer meal plans.  Which we thought was a really good idea until we came down to the practical side of it.  There are a lot of meal plans available on line (one of the most interesting is at the bottom of the page) but I personally have never ever used someone else’s meal plans.  When I look at meal plans I generally just glean ideas from them and tweak meals we already eat.
